You must be at least 21 years of age.
All animals in your household must be up-to-date on rabies and distemper shots and spayed or neutered.
If your town has a limit on how many pets you may own, you must not exceed it.
Fill out our application (see below).
Wait for one of our volunteers to contact you for a short home visit.
If you are approved, you can express your interest in one of our cats by emailing us at: donna@whiskerhillanimalrescue.com or calling us at 716-237-0038 and ask for Donna. Please be advised that the adoption is on a first-come, first-served basis.
We will contact you to set up a home visit and inform you of our decision within 24 hours. At that time, we will bring the cat to your home. If you feel it is a good fit for you and your family, the adoption may be finalized and the cat may stay with you! If you need more time, no problem! We will return the cat to our shelter and you have 24 hours to decide.
After the 24 hours is over, if you wish to move forward with the adoption, we will set up a time to do the final paperwork (contract) and drop off your cat. Keep in mind that once you sign the contract, the adoption fee is non-refundable. We will, however, take the cat back, so please do not abandon it. Please think carefully about this important decision.
And remember....if this particular cat is not a good fit, you can always try again!
